| Please be aware that by submitting a record to any of the projects, you have given permission for representatives to examine this file for the purpose ofextracting the names of individuals for indexing purposes. Biographies, Will & Probate, and Funeral/Memorial Card submissions may also be edited to append the name and e-mail address of the submitter.
Guidelines
Biographies: This is first and foremost; DO NOTpost materials protected by copyright other than your own! Any postedbiographies found to be protected by a copyright of someone other thanthe submitter must be removed from all Ohio and/or county Biography pages. Books and biography collections printed prior to 1922 are generally notprotected by copyright and are considered to be in the public domain. Photo static re-prints or duplications of pre-1922 works are not protectedby current copyright. The short story here is: Make sure your sourcebooks are pre-1922 originals, or re-prints or copies of pre-1922 originals. Make sure all original works are accompanied by your copyright notice,which is at the least the word "copyright", your name, and the date. I encourage everyone to write their own biographies about family members or other Lucas County persons. When creating your text, be as detailed as possible. Adding special interest pieces, stories, accomplishments, migration history, etc., makes the reading more interesting to others. Also include as many dates and personal data of the individual that you are aware of. |
