COOK of the City County and State of New York being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make publish and declare this to be my last Will and testament hereby revoking and making null and void all other last Wills and testaments by me heretofore made. Imprimis, my will is that all my Just debts and funeral charges shall by my Executrix and Executors hereinafter named, be paid out of my Estate as soon after my decease as shall by them be found convenient. I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife SOPHIA P. COOK all the household furniture beds and bedding, Silver and plated ware, ornaments, printed Books and family Stores which may be in my residence at the time of my decease to have and to hold the same to her and her Executors administrators and assigns forever. And I do direct that no inventory shall be made of the same. I also give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife SOPHIA P. COOK, all that certain house and lot of land in the City of New York Known and designated as number 41 Dominick Street in said City to have and to hold the Same to her, her heirs Executors administrators and assigns for ever. I give devise and bequeath unto my beloved wife SOPHIA P. COOK all the rest residue and remainder of my estate, Real and personal to have and to hold the same, for and during the term of her natural life, and my said wife shall and be accountable to the Executor hereinafter named, or to any person or persons whatever for the use income or receipt derived or accruing from my said Estate so devised and I do also direct that the provisions of this will shall be to my said wife in lieu and bar of dower in my said estate and shall be so accepted and taken by her. From and after the decease of my said Wife, I give devise and bequeath unto MISS MARTH SCANLAN the Sum of one thousand Dollars, if she shall have remained with my said Wife during the term of the natural life of my wife. I give and bequeath to my neice ELIZA M. VAN KIRK, daughter of my late brother GEORGE COOK deceased the sum of one thousand dollars. I also give and bequeath to AUGUSTUS F. TUTTLE the sum of one thousand Dollars. I also give and bequeath to my neice HARRIET LOCKWOOD the daughter of FITCH and POLLY SKINNER and wife of LUKE LOCKWOOD the Sum of Five Hundred dollars all of the foregoing legacies to be paid by my Executors as soon as conveniently may be after the decease of my said wife. Item. I give and bequeath to the Trustees of GREENWOOD CEMETERY the Sum of Three Hundred Dollars to be Kept at interest, and said interest to be used by them to Keep my lot of ground the fence and monument therein in said cemetery in good order and repair a?" Lot Known as Number Four thousand two hundred and forty two in the map of said Cemetery. Item, after the decease of my said wife, I ordain and direct that the rest residue and remainder of my said Estate shall be divided into four equal parts to be distributed as follows. I give devise and bequeath one equal fourth part thereof to my Neice MARY IRENE PERKINS daughter of my later brother GEORGE COOK deceased and widow of the late NATHAN E. PERKINS deceased to have and to hold the same unto the said MARY IRENE PERKINS her heirs and assigns forever. I give devise and bequeath one equal fourth part thereof to GRACE A. HOTCHKISS, widow my neice, and daughter of my late brother GEORGE COOK deceased, to have and to hold the same unto the said GRACE A. HOTCHKISS her heirs and assigns for ever. I give devise and bequeath one equal fourth part thereof to CALVIN B. CONKLIN to have and to hold the same unto the said CALVIN B.CONKLIN his heirs and assigns forever. I give devise and bequeath the remaining one equal fourth part thereof to the four daughters of the late NATHAN E. PERKINS and MARY IRENE his wife, to be divided Equally between them share and share alike. And in case of the death of any of the said legatees last mentioned, the share or interest of such legatee so deceased shall be divided equally between the survivors. Lastly, I make constitute and appoint my said Wife Executrix and my friends CYRUS PRICE of the City of New York gentleman, and WILLIAM MOIR also of said City Executors and Trustees and the Survivor of them Executor and Trustee under this Will and I do hereby Authorize and empower my said Executors or the survivor of them, after the decease of my said Wife and for the purpose of distributing among my said residuary devisees to bargin and sell alien and convey all or any part of my Real Estate at public auction or at private sale, and to make Execute and deliver good and sufficient deed or deeds of conveyance of the same to the purchaser or purchasers thereof and as to the Bonds and stocks and other personal estate which may remain after the payments of the legacies aforesaid, I direct that the same shall not be Sold by my Executors or Executor, but shall be divided so far as may be equitable between the devisees under this will. In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 9th day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Sixty Six. EDWARD A.
